Grounding for the Equinox
Autumn Equinox & Grounding
The Autumn Equinox is a time of balance - light and dark, growth and release - and connecting to the earth steadies your spirit as the days shift. Grounding your energy helps you move in harmony with the turning seasons.
Prepare for the coming Equinox by practicing a few simple grounding exercises. Create space to let go of what no longer serves you and prepare to receive the quiet gifts of the darker months ahead.
Simple Grounding Exercises
Get outside and stand barefoot on bare ground
Increase your mineral intake by adding a pinch of sea salt to your drinking water
If you are lucky enough to live near the ocean, walk barefoot on the sand while soaking up the salt air and negative ions produced by the crashing waves
Create a calming tea blend with herbs like lavender, lemon balm, raspberry leaf, and chamomile*
* Consult a healthcare professional: If you have underlying health conditions, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking any medications, it is wise to consult a doctor before consuming herbal teas. Patch test for allergies: People with allergies to ragweed may have a reaction to chamomile.
