Scorpio Season is Upon Us
Transformational Scorpio Season

The calendar tuns to Scorpio season as we anchor into cooler weather and shorter days.
During this time of the year, we are faced with shedding what no longer serves us (think of the leaves falling to the ground) and prepare to turn inward to reflect on that which we would like to have appear next in our lives. In the tarot, Scorpio is linked to the Death card - transitions, endings, big changes, new state of consciousness, rebirth, release.
Also at this time, we become conscious of the veil thinning between the seen and unseen worlds. This is not a coincidence, but more of an invitation to lean into our intuition and call on our spirit guides and ancestors for guidance as we navigate the next state of our lives.
You may find this energy stimulating or frightening, depending on your own personal situation. Personally, I have always welcomed the promise of release and new starts. But, that's just me. My advice to you, first come to terms with how the energy of this season makes you feel in order to figure out how you will best be able to work with it in your own life.
Activities for Scorpio Season: Release & Transformation
Cleaning out clothes closets is an easy and symbolic way to work with Scorpio season energy. The weather is changing, so this activity also makes perfect sense now. Donate whatever no longer makes you happy (Are there items you haven't worn in the past year? Do you wear some things despite feeling less than happy with how you look in them?) and organize what's left. This activity usually leaves areas of your wardrobe needing a refresh or restock. Explore the styles that make you happiest on Pinterest and focus on finding those items that will bring you the most joy. Are you falling back on old favorites or feeling more experimental? How you approach this activity is a direct hint at your approach to the transformational Scorpio season. Being more experimental with your personal style or holding out for what items that truly make you happy may feel uncomfortable. Change is uncomfortable. Will you accept the challenge to face the discomfort? [Can you see how this activity directly links to the more spiritual and life changing opportunity for release & transformation that is being offered up during Scorpio season? Let me know!]
Connecting with ancestors is traditionally associated with Scorpio season and especially Halloween and All Souls' Day. For me, it is a matter of refreshing my "ancestor altar" (which is a special area of my living room designed with a space for pictures of my ancestors and a quiet area to relax and reflect). I'll make sure to clean the area thoroughly, add a few seasonal touches including a fresh vase of flowers, seasonal candle, and to refill the small bottle of Holy Water that I keep there. For added meaning during this time of the thinning veil, you may want to write out a petition to your ancestors asking for clarity about a change you are considering. Place the piece of paper beneath a photo or a candle that you burn when you spend time with your ancestors (never leave a burning candle unattended!).
Experiment with fragrance - both personal and for your home. I like to swap out my warm weather scents for those that are deep, smoky, and mysterious. Scents like incense, oud, patchouli, and dark resins evoke the intensity and depth of Scorpio energy. Other related scents include damp earth, fallen leaves, and sensual notes like leather and amber.
